"As within, so without"

- Hermes Trismegistus -

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis:

Hypnosis is a trance like state of heightened suggestibility. It is a tool used to bypass the conscious mind and directly reach the subconscious mind.

What is the Subconscious Mind?

Our mind is separated into two parts: the conscious and the subconscious (sometimes referred to as unconscious).

What is the difference? The conscious mind is your rational mind. It is where you make your daily decisions and analyze. It also houses your willpower.

The subconscious mind is the deeper part of your mind. Your subconscious is where your beliefs, self-concept,  long term memory, and emotions all reside. The subconscious mind is the powerhouse of our operating system, and is what drives us majority of the time. Unconsciously, of course.

How Can Hypnosis Help Me?

Hypnosis works by relaxing the conscious mind and speaking directly to the subconscious mind.  Your subconscious mind does not reason or analyze as that is the job of the conscious mind. The subconscious believes what it is told and brings those ideas to pass.

Through hypnosis, people can make powerful shifts in their lives. Limiting beliefs and blockages that have held people in mental bondage can be released effortlessly. We can shift our Self-Concept to be more aligned with who we want to be, and not "who we are".  Hypnosis can help you make the changes to your life that you have desired to make. Hypnosis helps where willpower has failed.

Myths and Misconceptions

"I will lose control."

"I heard everything so I wasn't in hypnosis."

"I can't be hypnotized."

False. You are never "out of control". You are always in control at all levels of your mind and  being in hypnosis is no exception.

"I can't be hypnotized."

"I heard everything so I wasn't in hypnosis."

"I can't be hypnotized."

Everyone can be hypnotized. In fact, we experience a state similar to hypnosis multiple times a day. One of these times is when we are falling asleep. Another can be when we are driving, often referred to as "highway hypnosis".

The state of hypnosis is natural and easily obtainable by anyone.

"I heard everything so I wasn't in hypnosis."

"I heard everything so I wasn't in hypnosis."

"I heard everything so I wasn't in hypnosis."

Great! That is completely fine and normal. Everyone's experience with hypnosis is different, so this is actually a very normal occurrence.  The same goes for those who do not hear what I say.

"Hypnosis is mind control."

"Hypnosis did not work for my friend so it won't work for me."

"I heard everything so I wasn't in hypnosis."

False. Your subconscious mind acts as a protective mechanism for you and will not accept any suggestions that go against your core values.

The reason the suggestions we both decide on work while in hypnosis is because they are suggestions that you consciously want to be true. If you would never rob a bank while in the waking state, you won't be doing it in hypnosis either!

"I will get stuck in hypnosis."

"Hypnosis did not work for my friend so it won't work for me."

"Hypnosis did not work for my friend so it won't work for me."

False. You cannot get stuck in hypnosis. The state you are coached into cannot continue if the person coaching you stops.

At that point, you would either emerge or fall asleep.

"Hypnosis did not work for my friend so it won't work for me."

"Hypnosis did not work for my friend so it won't work for me."

"Hypnosis did not work for my friend so it won't work for me."

Everyone is different. Every issue and situation is different. Wanting to make changes in your life is the first step to a successful hypnosis session.

There are a few reasons as to why hypnosis may not work for someone, but the most common one is that they were ultimately not ready to make the changes in their lives at that time.
